Fashion Week Nashville set to kick off with a press conference in Edgehill
NASHVILLE, TN- November 1-6, 2010, Couture Fashion Magazine will present Nashville's first ever Fashion Week Nashville throughout the Music City. On Monday, November 1, at 10AM, Fashion Week Nashville (FWN) will kick off with a press conference at whats-in-store’s Edgehill location. Whats-in-store is located at 1200 Villa Place in Suite 403 in Nashville, TN.
whats-in-store is one of the ticket booth venues for Fashion Week Nashville. Whats-in-store offers affordable, high-fashion accessories in a chic retail setting. Celebrities see wearing whats-in-store accessories include Taylor Swift, Jessica Simpson, and Miranda Lambert to name a few. The public may purchase VIP Soiree tickets and Runway Show passes at whats-in-store’s Nashville and Franklin locations or online at CoutureFashionMag.com. If enough funding is raised for Fashion Week Nashville, a portion of the proceeds will go to help Middle TN flood victims.
During the press conference, Couture’s Editor, Polly Bibb will address the press about FWN and the importance of bringing fashion week to Nashville. In addition some of the designers participating in Fashion Week will be present to discuss their lines. The press conference will begin at 10AM, and is the first event for Fashion Week Nashville. Other events include: Tuesday’s VIP Soiree, Wednesday’s Fashion & Art Night, Friday’s SHOP IT! event and Saturday’s Runway Shows.
The VIP Soiree on Tuesday, November 2 at the Red House in downtown Franklin from 6PM-8PM. Guests will enjoy wine, Constant Craving’s finest hors d' oeuvres, and preview pieces from collections before they hit the runways. In addition, Like Candy Red, the three sister band will do a special live performance.
On Wednesday, November 3, FWN is hosting a chic Fashion & Art night at FIDO in Hillsboro Village. Join fashion photographers: Dzuback, Chris Mellgren and others in the back corner of FIDO. Grab a coffee and browse through digital artwork that expresses fashion and creativity, while chatting with some of Middle Tennessee’s most creative talent.
On Thursday, November 4, FWN is taking the night off to support the Eating Disorders Coalition of TN’s annual Fashion for EveryBODY show. The EDCT’s fashion show presents real life role models as runway models in various designs. It is a fabulous event that FWN can’t wait to attend and show their support.
On Friday, November 5, FWN is having an all day event called, SHOP IT! Various boutiques, shops, businesses and fashion websites will have special sales, events and trunk shows in honor of FWN. Visit CoutureFashionMag.com for a full listing of sales and events.
FWN concludes with a full day of Runway Shows on Saturday, November 6, at the Nashville Convention Center from 10AM-9PM. Fashion Week Nashville added a new show to the runway line up
Monday, November 1, 2010 Fashion Week Nashville will grace the Music City with six days filled with fashion. Those days include a press conference, VIP Soiree, Fashion & Art Night, shopping events and runway shows. On Saturday, November 6, at the Nashville Convention Center, Jacquelyn Brooks Designs will kick off FWN’s runway shows at 10AM. Jacquelyn Brooks, the designer is based out of Gainesville, FL. She went on to college at Florida State University where she received a Bachelors of Science in Apparel Design and Technology. After graduating she returned to Gainesville where she opened a design studio across from the University of Florida.
Jacquelyn Brooks Her store, Jacquelyn Brooks Designs, is an apparel design / tailoring studio and boutique. Jacquelyn specializes in custom dressmaking including bridal wear, evening gowns and prom dresses. Jacquelyn also performs tailoring/alteration services on any garment from wedding dresses to business suits to original hems on jeans.
Displayed in her boutique are formal, semi-formal and casual dresses as well as doggie apparel and jewelry that Jacquelyn has designed and made. Ms. Brooks recently designed an evening gown for a contestant in the 2008 Miss University of Florida pageant and designed the live auction gown for the Cure By Design Fashion Show which raised $5000 for the American Cancer Society.
Other runway shows at FWN include: Mission Savvy with eco-friendly lines from Charleston, West Virginia, Shawn-Michelle Le Fleur with hair accessories and fancies originally from LA, God’s Princess from designer Cameo Bobo of Nashville and Gent Menswear with designer, Sarah Mallory of Nashville. Show tickets are $10 per show, or you may purchase a Runway Pass with access to all five shows for $35.
Tickets may be purchased online, at whats-in-store in Edghill Village, whats-in-store in Franklin or at the Williamson County-Franklin Chamber of Commerce. Tickets will not be sold the day of the shows. Please make plans to purchase your tickets in advance.
