Full Figured Fashion Week(end)™ delivers fashion from a plus perspective in Los Angeles October 28th-30, 2010.

Gwen DeVoe championed for decades to get full-figured fashion, models, and designers respect and attention in the fashion industry. On the heels of the highly successful Full Figured Fashion Week™ in New York--with a front-page piece in The New York Times, viral excitement on distinguished fatshion blogs and plus size fashion magazines, DeVoe sets to define fashion from a plus perspective with Full Figured Fashion Week(end)™ Los Angeles from October 28th-30th, 2010.

In response to the plea of west coast shoppers, designers and models in the plus-industry, New York based DeVoe Signature Events sets its sights on Los Angeles. DeVoe comments, “Most people don’t think 'fatshionista' when they think of Los Angeles-- they think of women dieting themselves into size zero dresses, but there is a growing and vocal plus-size community in L.A.. When we sought to expand Full Figured Fashion Week™ into other markets, L.A. was my first choice."

Returning as Full Figured Fashion Week(end)™’s title sponsor, Sonsi joins Full Figured Fashion Week(end)™ L.A. to bring a fashion-filled three-day weekend showcasing the latest designs of the hottest, brightest, and freshest talent-including the models, that are redefining plus size fashion to the plus-size community. Jill Hutchinson, publisher of Sonsi.com shares: "Sonsi is all about celebrating the full-figured woman and her rightful place on the fashion scene. The full-figured woman is alive and well in L.A., and Sonsi is proud to partner with Full Figured Fashion Week(end)™ to help inspire and empower her to achieve her full fashion potential in a city that lives and breathes style."

Full Figured Fashion Week(end)™ will open the festivities with Curves for a Cure: A Celebration in Pink silent charity auction hosted by full figured R&B artist Kelly Price. Designers within the community have donated their designs for auction and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Los Angeles chapter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

On Friday, the plus community gathers for a day of panel discussions: The “Business of Plus Size Fashion;” the “New and Aspiring Model Seminar;” and the “State of the Curvy Community” panel discussions that round up noted and distinguished leaders within the plus-size community.

On Saturday, October 30th, under the tents at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, Full Figured Fashion Week(end)™ will showcase fashion from a plus perspective with designers all across the US.
