Couture Readers,

August is here!  What a delightful month.  You can still wear summer apparel and you can start wearing transitional pieces for fall.  In this issue, Belk embraces retro with a sassy modern twist.  Couture had the privilege of sitting down with Arlene Goldstein, Vice President of Trend Merchandising and Fashion Director for Belk. Goldstein filled us in on Belk’s new fall, fashion line up, new fragrances and the “must haves” for your wardrobe.

For the girls living in rural surroundings, small towns or the big city, we have found fabulous apparel and accessories to suit your day-to-day life.  Flip through the Apparel section, and become inspired.  Are you on a budget, or wanting to indulge in a spending spree?  Treat yourself to a little something or an expensive something before the summer ends.  We have over 35 different accessories, bags and shoes under $20 and over $20.

In a few short weeks, Couture will host Nashville’s first-ever fashion week.  We can’t wait to showcase the designers, and are very excited to kick off the fashion season with you.  Across the world, fashion designers are putting the finishing touches on the details of their shows.  Be sure to read about London, Milan and Mumbai’s fashion weeks.  New York Fashion Week moves to the Lincoln Center this September, and there is quite a buzz in Manhattan about it.
For all of our college gals heading off for their first semester or returning veterans, Lexi Vance brings you the latest on campus styles and trends.  Vance is a student at Sewanee: The University of the South and a former Couture intern.  Her advice will get you looking chic and sassy for your new classes.

Finally, we have one secret that you won’t believe.  Tucked into the pages of this issue, a Couture staffer brings you a golden jewel that she stumbled upon.  It’s all in this issue.  Sip on a cold tea, reapply that sunscreen and cherish your last moments of summer as you browse through our August issue.  Until next time…

Ciao Bellas!
